@Moonshadow Kati: They’ll probably make well over six figures on the sales of this ._.

@mkomarinski001: It’s hilarious and repetitive. You just don’t understand being addicted to a non-sandbox game.

@thehouserules: That’s exactly what I think when I see people playing World Of Warcraft.

@BrknPheonix: Thanks Kat!

@RubiksCube: Awesome game. I just read an article about the collector’s edition that they did with that back for the gamecube. I want to pick it up, but I sadly don’t have the money. Maybe for Christmas….

@mkomarinski001: It’s a simple game with amusing graphics and sounds. Something you can pick up when you have a free moment, and walk away from at any tijme. That’s basically it. And therefore it appeals to the people that serious games alienate with their ridiculous cut-scenes and attempts at plot.
I used to play a lot of games but cut-scenes really killed it for me. I played to play, not to sit around waiting. I realize this comment dates me a bit…

@mipakr: That makes it a whole lot more feasible.

@Mayor McRib: OMG.. Pitfall on Atari! Memories… my friend and I actually drew maps with the intention of mapping out the ENTIRE game. Made a lot of progress, too.

Let me buy a game then pay more to cheat through it.. Lame-O.

See this is why Tolkien didn’t use the Eagles from the very beginning, the whole War of the Ring would have been over one page after Rivendell. Sure a few thousand lives would have been spared but I bet the victory would have been unfulfilling.

I finished conquering the iPhone version yesterday. My second greatest achievement behind solving Pitfall without losing a life on Atari.

@BrknPheonix: I just had flashbacks to playing Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
Thank you sir. Thank you.

@phunnyballs: it is not one time use.. the eagle recharges over time
mipakr
That’s way to much for a $. It should be a dollar for like 20 uses. (And that’s a minimum. I think it should be free)
naturewill
I will do this once ever, purely to see what it looks like to have the Eagle attack those pesky pigs.
lucasway89
It is a one time 99 cent fee to purchase the mighty eagle, and free to use from then on (limit of once per hour if using to skip past a level). Having it introduces the equivalent of a whole new game with separate high-scores being logged when the eagle is used instead of beating the game the normal way. No stars are awarded, and your “Mighty Eagle Score” is instead a % based on the amount of destruction the eagle is able to accomplish.

Q. Is it a single use item or do you only have to purchase it once?
A. Once. Per Rovio, “The Eagle is NOT one use only, but it ‘recharges’ for a time before it can be used to skip a level again. However, the Eagle can be used repeatedly in any level you’ve already managed to unlock.”
Q. What do you get when you purchase the Mighty Eagle?
A. The Mighty Eagle comes with two features:
Level skip
New “mini-game”. I’m not sure exactly what the “mini-game” is.

@headc4se: Man, I still hanker for the occasional game of Sea Battle!

@mkomarinski001: This generations tetris? This generation still plays tetris.

@mkomarinski001: My 75 year old mother is addicted to it. Does that help?

Why the hell would someone pay for a game, and then pay more to not play it?
thehouserules
@mkomarinski001: As a fellow long time gamer, here is my take: Angry Birds is a pretty typical take on a fairly used genre of casual games. Two things make it really stand out, though; The huge increase in smartphone usage has led non-gamers to check out casual gaming, and this game is highly polished (fluid, glitch free, intuitive, and with lots of content). So, it is highly available, cheap, easy to pick up and put down, and actually pretty fun.
Moonshadow Kati
Wow. Am I the only one who thinks paying a dollar to cheat at a single-player game you only paid a dollar for seems a bit outrageous? Also, not I cheat much, but I really hope this doesn’t catch on.
lowtolerance
But Rovio’s website provides walkthroughs for all levels.
I don’t really see the point.

I’ll take out Miss Piggy for a buck?
FriarNurgle
Suck at Angry Birds? You could just lie to your friends about it, or not mention it at all (this is a single player game, after all), or even keep playing until you beat it normally. Or, you could throw your money away to cheat your way through it.
I really hope nobody would be foolish enough to fall for this, but i’m sure this will end up bringing in obscene amounts of money. Bravo.
Moonshadow Kati
Sometimes I get so pissed at this game because the physics aren’t exactly realistic, but there’s no way I’d use this. I wouldn’t use it if it were free.
The Squalor and the Fury
@mkomarinski001: As someone who has been gaming since the Atari 2600 and Intellivision, and who loves Angry Birds, yes, it is Tetris for a new generation. There really is no point, and yet it’s addictive as all hell. Gotta get those 3 stars!
headc4se
SO smart. Wow.
ZenInsight
Maybe I’ve been a gamer for far too long, but I just don’t get the attraction to Angry Birds. Must be this generation’s Tetris or Pac Man or something.
Oh hell, I’m old.
mkomarinski001
Gandalf can also be seen riding on the back of the angry eagle.
BrknPheonix
wow. can u imagine how much they will make from this? a lot of people will just use it and not really care about the 99cents.
