Go Congress! Loud commercials have been one of the top complaints to the FTC since the 1960s. It only took half-century for them to do something f-ing useful. Go Congress!
Next up by Congress: low unemployment in 2060! woot!

@R4V3N: I hate rap music but please don’t try to ban any kind of music. I don’t want what I listen to to get banned.

@sam-a: They should drop turkeys from the air with the campaigning politician’s name on it. It’ll piss off PETA, but it’ll warm over the WKRP-loving crowd.

@Manly McBeeferton: I’m pretty sure everyone (in the US at least) is glad for this.

@El Guano: Can’t wait till congress learns about the internet.
Maybe they’ll put a stop the the annoying commercials that go full browse after hovering over them or start playing a video with audio or just start playing audio… fucking annoying!

Dear Congress: Please ban all political ads (not just the loud ones) until the US has no budget deficit, a properly regulated banking system, a modern healthcare system, and lobbyists are out of Washington.

I, for one, am glad for this and hope these guidelines expand to not just commercials somehow.
I dislike changing the channel and it being much louder than the one I was just watching.
Manly McBeeferton
CALM Act, I see what they did there, low volumes, keep you calm. Clever Congress.
Mr_Quackers
This is good, it got so bad on some UK networks that you had to mute the adverts or turn the TV right down to avoid being blasted

I want to know why the FCC can’t control this already… Why does congress need to waste time on this issue?

I hate loud commercials. I fight them by refusing to by products advertised in a manner that causes me to moisten my pants out of surprise.

Maybe I’ll actually be able to watch tv without stabbing someone.

Congress must spend a lot of time on Livestream.
I have my volume set for a reason, why must you override to full when playing a commercial? Especially if I have the volume muted in the first place? F U livestream.
El Guano
I’m glad they are tackling the hard issues!
Palin 4 Pres!
They should paperclip this to the front of any relevant documentation so they have something to warm them over before they actually read it.
Kaiser-Machead v.2.4
Next bill passed: rap music is outlawed.
R4V3N
Sure glad they have time for this instead of you know, solving the real issues….
